Top-down communication

The mission

At Franziskuswerk Schönbrunn (FWS), more than 1,500 employees are committed to helping those with mental and/or other disabilities. They support people of all ages with assistance needs in their daily activities – at home, at work, and during their free time. They want to enable these people to participate in society and lead a self-determined life. During the coronavirus pandemic, the following was – and still is – true for FWS: all employees must be able to quickly access all the necessary information for handling the virus.

The requirements

As a tool for Franziskuswerk Schönbrunn, COYO should…

  • … quickly provide the staff with news.
  • … make all necessary information available.
  • … strengthen the bond between employees and management.

Challenges

Before the introduction of COYO, information took a detour via traditional channels of communication and reached employees only after a considerable delay. Much of it was sent by e-mail or passed on through personal conversation and was not available in a central location. These channels reached their limits, particularly in the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, where speed was of the essence. The objective for a communicative restart was clear: information should be shared directly with the workforce.

The COYO match

„COYO stands out for its ease of use.”

Matthias Haack, Head of Communication & Marketing; Internal Organizational Development at Franziskuswerk Schönbrunn gGmbH

From selection to implementation

What should the new tool be like? The requirement was unambiguous: everyone should have access at any time and from any device. Whether onsite at the headquarters in Schönbrunn or at the regional branches - all information should always be available, and the tool should be, above all, intuitive to use. Those in charge were quickly convinced: “It doesn’t take a week of training to get the hang of the tool.” And not only that - with minimal effort and resources, FWS launched their COYO “CoronaNet” within only seven days.

COYO in everyday life

The employees enjoy using the socializing and collaboration features because they provide significant added value. They create a feeling of closeness and connection. Employees particularly appreciate the improved quality of communication: “This is reflected in the general cooperation and the bond between management and employees.” COYO has quickly established itself, and it’s hard to imagine Franziskuswerk Schönbrunn without it.
